Slime

Now try and work this one out, we loved to buy a container from Mattel, that when you opened it up was full of a green thick jelly type product called Slime. What did we do with it?

Well we took the smooth Slime out of the container and moved it around the room,on the table and across the Dog. What did it do? Nothing is the answer. The Slime hit the streets back in 1976 and was an instant school success, but after the initial shock and amusement there was not a lot you could really do with it.

The manufacturers knew this too, so they had to come up with another idea to make us buy more. They did this by making the product more specific, like Slime eyeballs and Slime insects and they even invested a Slime board game too.

“Great green gobs of greasy, grimy gopher guts mutilated monkey meat
Little birdy’s dirty feet French fried eyeballs swimming in a pool of blood
And me without my spoon.

70s Toys & Games

Remember the old retro toys you used to play with? Did you bounce about on spacehoppers, play pong or ride around on your cool Chopper? Can you recall the heroes Twirling Tim and Hurricane Hank, and who they used to do battle with in the arena? Did you used to come home from school with bruised knuckles from trying to beat 100 clacks on your Klackers? Or was you the studious type carefully making lovely patterns with your Spirograph which, no matter how careful you were, always seemed to cut through the paper turning your masterpiece into a mess.
