Cars of the 70’s

Can you imagine Triumph Dolomite Sprint £2,937?

Something that is always of interest, especially to us blokes is cars, so looking back on the old motors of the 70s was certainly something of a treat. With a lot of thanks to all my classic car friends, we’ve put together a great collection of 70s cars including the iconic Capri for you to have a look at, and to make it a little more interesting, we’ve written it all as if we were in the 70s and even inserted the going price for the cars at that time. My first car was actually the air cooled camper van which would be worth a fortune today if I still had it and I can tell you thinking of that van brings back some great memories. Installing wood panelling and fur bench seats in the bank certainly helped me get some “interesting” memories too.

The beautiful E Type Jag - a true classic

Now I know we didn’t all drive cars like this beautiful E Type Jag, more like the Hillman Imp in my case but car’s do kick start a whole load of memories. While I was writing this section all sorts of memories came back to me like getting up at 4am to try and beat the traffic down to Camber Sands in my Uncles Cortina. Having to stop a couple of times on the way to let the engine cool down and grabbing some fresh strawberries from a stall and as we got close who was going to be first to see the sea.
The car’s from the 70s were things of beauty and style, prone to breaking down and overheating I know but at least you didn’t need a computer to fix them. A toolbox complete with duck tape and stockings would be normally be enough to get you going.
