Chipsticks

Now these crisp style products came from Smiths Crisps, and were no more than chip (French Fry) shaped crisps, that were , or seemed to be really strong tasting.
The plain or especially the salt and vinegar flavour were so, so , so tasty, that once you started pushing them down your throat it was really hard to stop until the whole packet had been consumed.

So bad for you, but oh so, so so satisfying too.

Do you remember this commercial?

“Young man: Come on, darlin’!

Girl: No!

Young man: You don’t know until you’ve tried it.

Girl: Oh, all right, I’ll try anything once (eats a Chipstick). ’Ere, they’re smashin’

(Young man looks at her cleavage and sighs Yeah). Oh, Chipsticks. They look like chips, don’t they? They’re all crunchy, ain’t they?

Young man: Right. Say when.

Girl: Wait till I’ve finished the Chipsticks.

Smack your chops, lick your lips, Eat a lovely bag of Chipsticks”

Oh those naughty 1970s!!!!!

70s Retro Sweets

If you had to describe sweets from the 70s one word you would not use is boring. The seventies produced some of the wackiest ideas for confectionary you have ever known. From candy that explodes in your mouth to popcorn type sweets called HankyPanky, a selection of chocolates in a bar and coconut flavoured strands of chewy sugar wrapped in a tobacco type pouch called Spanish Gold.
