Help with song Lyrics

Soulsister – HELP! Can anyone help me with a song i have liked from childhood but cant remember what its called or who its by:The beginning of the Lyrics went- Shiney, shiney, shiney shoes of leather-thats it i cant remember anymore, I think it may have been by the Doors?? Strange song, kind of hippyish, late 60’s early 70’s. I heard it a few years back on an advert, for a car-its so frustrating!! Can any of you music buffs out there help me??

Coop72 – Hi Soul sister……..
Had you been watching all of the seven ages of rock BBC prog’s you’d of heard it again on thier…
I’ll have to check out the actual title But we are talking Lou reed in his earlier days…..
When he was the velvit underground..

It may be worth just putting in shiney shiney in a down load search like “”Ares”” and a MP3 may come up….. Regards John. Coop4ever…….

Coop72 – Hi Soul Sister……….. It’s on it’s way Via a E.mail to you in MP3 form, I went and found it for you……. it’s called venus in furs…….I’ve just finished playing it, it’s a great track I also like… Keep rockin! Regards Coop72 / John.

Soulsister – Hi John- You are my new HERO!!!! Thankyou so much for taking so much trouble over finding the track for me- I only ever knew Lou Reed to be,connected with Walk on the Wild Side. and its funny but i watch watching some programme about him, on Digital recently, and thinking that id have to listen to some of his Velvet Underground tracks, without even knowing that he was the one who made the song that ive wanted for years. talking of finding quite obscure stuff, when i was small[end of 1960’s] when my brother was a young man, he was a kind of hippy and he used to play a lot of records, and would let me sit in his room with him and listen[if i was quiet], and he used to play this song that left a kind of haunting never to be forgotten effect on me. I asked tons of people to try to think of it for me, yes they recognised it but couldnt tell me anymore. well now in my mid forties-i have it-i wonder if you know it? White Rabbit, Jefferson Airplane!! They were a bit before my time! I love that track too. Anyway you’ve made me a very happy bunny!!! Thanks loads. Best wishes . Soulsister
Coop72 “No problem Soul Sister I was just pleased to make your day!

Yup I know The White Rabbit track “” Go tell Alice”” they’ve recently used it on an advert.. another hippy trippy type track………

I at one time used a capture programme for movement and sound and copied from some site three different versions of them doing it….. one on Beat Club a German pop pro from the 70’s…
another live in concert and one shot on a beach if I remember right along with clips of the film directors new wife dancing around in the waves…
I was born in 1961 so I’m a year older then you, It was T.Rex my sister played all the time and I went through glam and came out with Alice Cooper who I still go see to this day… John/ Hence Coop72 ( When he had a number 1 with School’s out)

Soulsister – Yeah john- I used to love Trex, Sweet, Gary Glitter, Slade.Wizzard, all of em in fact. What a lovely time it was for music. Then it was Disco etc, I liked Alice Cooper. They reakon he’s a really nice man in reality, and a friend for years of David Cassidy,. Haven’t we known a lot of different music in our time?

Coop72 – Yup we sure have heard sooooo much music over the years, But the 70’s seem’d so much more fun and very colourful with the Glam thing going on, I don’t know if it was just because we were younger then and not so many things to worry about s, bills to pay and so on….
Though asking my mother she always agreed that the 70’s was fun even for her, although looking back at history from the time there was still a lot of bad stuff happening in the news..
Music was still growing back then and still was pretty naive with some suggestive lyrics….. Not like now , it’s all been done since “”Relax don’t do it when you wanna *** and all the tidious swearing on the rap records. On the Subject of Alice it’s right he is a very nice man he’s a very hands on people person and quite often sits for two hours signing items for his fans, I’ve met him five times and he’s always had a smile and a happy word and he’s also a quick witted one liner come backs type of guy, if only all stars were like that. John X

Rennie – Hi John Have you read the Alice Cooper bio written by a really nice guy Stephen Palmer, who’s sadly no longer with us. It’s a very good read with a funny twist I’m sure you’ll enjoy the irony of it.

Soulsister – Hi COOP72- I actually bought the CD today of Lou Reed and Velvet Underground, with that song you found for me on!! Thanks to you!! I wondered -being you liked T.Rex? Have you got any videos or film footage of them?do you really know what you are getting in to?

The Velvet Underground (named after an S+M novel) were a rather ‘intense’ act linked to Andy Warhol’s Loft Scene, smack, debauchery and all that came with it. Tread carefully.”

Sadly with Escape’s new design we couldn’t incorporate the old threads into the new forum but so we don’t lose all those magical old chats we’ve collected them all here for you to go back and read.
