Cheese Cloth Shirts

Aelf – What happened to cheese cloth shirts? They were really cool looking and cool to wear in the summer. I used to wear a white cheese cloth shirt and a pair of those high hipster trousers with the huge waistband with ranks of buttons.

Thinking back I must have looked a right plonker but I thought I was the coolest dude in town lol

Mark UK – lol you poser there’s one on Ebay now would suit a girlie like you

Aelf – Hey no need for that
I bet you went for the Halter necks or maybe you went for the safari jacket look

Mark UK – LOL Touche
I did like the corduroy jeans though. I didn’t have the balls to wear one of those Hawaiian shirts

Rennie – There’s a great affro wig on Ebay that would go well with your corduroys mate.

Karen – We managed to wear cheese cloth shirts as part of our summer uniforms! Weren’t we lucky girlies? Mostly though I recall how much I loved my Gypsy skirts and off the shoulders matching tops.
Oh, and those …….hehe.. layered long petticoats with the lace that showed beneath the skirts…..

Sandie – I must be a born again hippy, My fashion now is Gypsy skirts with cheesecloth tops or similar……. do the Hippy Hippy Shake everyone………………..rofl…

Hattie – My fashion is exactly the same now too Sandie, I also dress exactly like that too, have noticed that the skirts have got prettier lately, just got some fantastic clothes from Gibralter, there was a shop there that had all the flowy seventies fashions, I was in my glory……er….thats why i am so broke now!! lol

Sandie – Love the fashion Hattie,
Very comfy………Looks good on, feels good and above you feel like a woman ………………..today it’s anything goes as long as there isn’t much of it………………….
Sorry……………not me at all never has been never will be……I’m an Earth child…………….through and through…………… I like to feel Free and will remain that way………………lol
Hey Man Boogey on Down……………

Sparky – I did like the corduroy jeans though. I didn’t have the balls – I did, wore the bloody material away!

Lainybins – I always found that cheese-cloth shirts “”gapped”” at the front, no matter what size I wore. Not a good look for a chubby young teen. My slimmer older sister always looked fantastic in hers (apart from the bubble perm).

Rennie – I always liked the look of he cheese cloth shirts but actually go one, used to walk around Mr Byrite checking them and the Hawaiian shirts out.

Glittergal – I had a lovely one (I can still see it now, in my minds eye) light blue, lilac and white cheesecloth shirt when I was 13 in the spring of 1976, loved that shirt to bits xx

Goldencup – Me and my mates all used to live in our cheesecloth shirts – especially those ones that tied at the waist leaving a bit of our slim midriffs exposed – those were the days, sigh!
