Awombleforever – I loved it when clogs were in fashion,I don’t really know why as they weren’t the most comfortable things to wear. Scholl sandals too, they were very special I had a red pair in the 70s.
Hattie – My Scholl Sandals were white Womble …….cant remember if i had clogs mind u
Nix – Oh, God–Dr. Scholls. You had to cling to them with your toes to keep them from sliding off. And I was so graceful to begin with. Between hanging onto your shoes with your toes and struggling to keep your tube top up… The things ya do to look fabulous.
Awombleforever – exercise for your feet until your foot slips a bit and part of your bare foot lands on the edge, ouch
Karen – Dr.scholls – still ……… ever so fashionable….Ouch – they do hurt when you catch yr feet on the back ! funny when I look back, dad cut mine up with his saw in the garage because I’d clump around in the house very very early in the morning!
Lainybins – My Mum had a habit of whipping off her slipper and whacking us around the backs of the legs if we were naughty as kids (wouldn’t be allowed now!).
Dad bought her a a pair of Scholls one Christmas. My brother misbehaved and Mum instinctively….. well, you know. Nearly broke his leg! She never, ever did it again, even when she’d gone back to softer slippers!”
Rennie – lol cant believe your dad cut them up Karen… a bit drastic that.
Karen – yes Rennie that was dads answer to the clumping of the scholls – I could not understand (lol) ‘why 05.30 seemed so early to them’. Eeek
Rennie – *laughing* well I cant blame him then if it was that time in the morning.
I can remember getting up at the break of day and just going for a walk. Was nice at that time when all you could hear was the birds and milk floats.
James Blast – Clogs were the footwear of choice for followers of the band New Model Army, but that was the 80s. Sorry and thank you for your patience.
Karen – Are Dr Scholls clogs still sold? They were more like a jesus sandal without the ankle strap.
Glittergal – Hi, Clogs, let me remember, yes mine were lurid orange and blue!!Very 70s, very snazzy!
