Hammer Films

Rennie – Hi Imp as promised here’s a link to all things Hammer.

http://www.hammerfilms.com/

You’d better start saving your money if you’re going to collect the lot.

Quite a few there including the great Captain Kronus.

James Blast – Aw c’mon Boss!, I posted that link ages ago, but mine had a lot of Hot Lesbo Vampire Action

Hattie – Its so odd if i saw a hammer film now i would laugh… BUT in the seventies i was soooooooooo scared .. how does that happen ??

James Blast – Hammer Horror is one of those comfy things Hatts, the good guys always win. You were only afeared because they were X Films! We were all scared of X Films!, back then. well I was, even the Confessions Of A… series, they equalled something dirty, so therefore dangerous

Hattie – Yes agree James ……..X did mean scarey ………. didnt think of it that way – Hattie

Karen – Interesting – had a lecturer come in from the film and broadcast censorshipboard in Vancouver. Now, they only refuse to give a rating to certain adult images……………..things that can only be disscussed through PM’s. Seems the rating system is crazy over here………way too lax.

Rocksgirl – i remember watching the Edgar Allan Poe films like the Raven and Pit and the Pendleum when i was young.. frightened me to death… just recently watched them again and i just laughed! Lol

Rennie – Same here I just watched The Legend of the 7 golden Vampires and it was bad it was funny

Rocksgirl – i think these days, due to nature of film making, we’ve become ‘hardened’ to shocking images. Such films were headline news and caused a real hooha back in the good old days. But they are just lame now compared to what is being made today. I watched the original Texas Chainsaw massacre and i found it quite boring but i watched the re-make and i did find it a bit scary!! lol

James Blast – Rennie wrote:”Same here I just watched The Legend of the 7 golden Vampires and it was bad it was funny” did you mean “”it was so bad, it was funny””?”

Rennie – yes James sorry mate i’m a bit tired

Rocksgirl – dont worry Rennie.. i post like that even when i’m wide awake! Lol

I’d say it had more to do with real life TV news. It started with Vietnam and hasn’t ceased, Baghdad is only the latest televised atrocity.

yeah James, you’re probably spot on there.

James Blast – thankee RocksG, sanity finally visits this forum

Why, has someone else just joined then? LOL

James Blast – Rocksgirl wrote: “Why, has someone else just joined then? LOL” Nope.

Lainybins – Remember when BBC2 used to show two old horror movies back to back on a Saturday evening? Were they Hammer ones? My Mum used to leave my younger sister and I downstairs to watch them and we’d sit there guzzling orange squash (steady now…) and munching on Iced Gems. My favourite was one where small dolls would go around stabbing people in the legs with what looked like hat pins, but I can’t for the life of me recall what happened next! If these weren’t Hammer Horrors, do forgive me and cut and paste me to the relevant thread. Thank you.

Rennie – Trying to remember that one, does ring a bell. Was that Asylum by any chance with my old mate Catweazle in a supporting role. There were a few stories rolled into one. Either that or maybe Tales of the Unexpected.

James Blast – Asylum was an Amicus film, Patrick Magee gets it in the neck!

I started building Escape in 2005 and in it’s early form I had the pleasure of a great 70s community. Sadly with Escape’s new design we couldn’t incorporate the old threads into the new forum but so we don’t lose all those magical old chats we’ve collected them all here for you to go back and read.
