Seventies Man

I loved the Saturday night shows on BBC1 in the 1970s. I think my favourite was the Seaside Specials which was a live outside broadcast from some seaside town once a week.
It was normally introduced by one of the Radio One djs.
It was also held often under a circus big top.

The fun started when the theme began which was Womble man Mike Batt with the hit Summertime City. Great song.
For some reason the useless Bernie Clifton seemed to be there every week. But for me it was the pop acts of the time that you could watch. Peters and Lee, Showaddywaddy,The New Seekers, The Three Degrees.

I also had to put up with Paul Daniels and Nookie the Bear.
