Seventies Man

It really seemed that you were either in one camp or another. I liked Blue Peter but it always seemed to be geared to the upper class kids. I was on a street in a council house and at comprehensive school too. So Magpie with there down to earth normal presenters made it my show.

I did like John Noakes of course- who did not?

I also preferred Magpie they just seemed to have more interesting subjects. John Noakes was of course was a star for Blue Peter – who could not like him

In hindsight neither. Magpie was too amatuerish – & B.P. was too err, BBC.
Susan Stranks (Magpie) – 1st woman to go braless on kids tv?! – kept most people ‘amused’ in the early 70’s!!!

Magpie was the lower level show. However it did seem faster paced which kept my attention.

lol @ David maybe subconciously that was the reason I watched it and it wasn’t the faster pace that kept my attention. ;)
