It is Christmas Day on ITV and here is the schedule. What do you remember?
9:00am Rainbow.. Great way to start.
9:15am A Heavenly Place
10:00am Service, from Luss Parish Church, Loch Lomond
11:00am A Merry Morning
11:45am Harold Lloyd’s World of Comedy (b-w)
1:15pm Jack Parnell and the Big Band Show. Not my cup of tea.
2:00pm Chipperfields Christmas Circus. BBC had Billy Smart Circus.
3:00pm The Queen speaks to the Commonwealth
3:05pm Doctor in Trouble (film) starring Leslie Phillips, Harry Secombe, Robert Morley, James Robertson Justice
4:45pm Captain Noah and His Floating Zoo
5:10pm News
5:20pm Bay City Rollers Show, with Gilbert O’Sullivan. Now where is that tape?
6:20pm Christmas Celebrity Squares. With the late Bob Monkhouse
7:00pm Crossroads. The original ATV version with Noel Gordon.
7:30pm Get Some In. Army comedy.
8:00pm Love Thy Neighbour. It is not to be shown now. Not PC!
8:30pm The Taming of the Shrew (film) starring Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton

Honestly looking at all that stuff I think sometimes we may look back with too much nostalgia. Nothing there I would want to sit down to over any Christmas Day.

Get some in with Tony Selby and Love thy neighbour was funny for It’s time, I remember the episode outside one of their houses about to have a punch up and the black guy shuffled and said look It’s Muhammad Ali, funny then but would not work now.
