Another 1960s group who managed enough steam to make a small impact on the 1970s charts.
The group was inducted in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2008, and had classic 1960s hits like Glad All Over. They had two hits in 1970, the first being called Everybody Get Together on Columbia records. The song was initially a 1964 hit for a group called The Kingston Tri. Nope I have never heard of them either.
Dave Clark himself was born in the UK in 1942, and apart from his ability to be a musician and singer he also was an a writer of a stage musical called Time, that starred Davis Cassidy and Cliff Richard. Dave also owns all the rights to the old TV series Ready Steady Go.
Band member Mike Smith, along with all other members disbanded the group in 1970. Mike later in 1976 was a producer on songs for Manfred Manns Earthband. Mike died in 2008. Band member Dennis Payton died in 2006, and Rick Huxley is enjoying his retirement.
