Real Madrid 1960-70s Real Madrid 1960's – 1970's. The famous all white shirt of Real Madrid. Laurie Cunningham 'the black flash' (pictured) was the first English player to play for Real Madrid when he made the £995,000 move from West Brom in 1979. Cunningham was the first black player to represent England in a competitive match when played against Wales in a Home International in May 1979. Tragically he died in a car accident in Spain in 1989 at the age of 33. This shirt is long sleeved and made from knitted cotton.

Growing up in the 70's you were forced to pick a football team very early on and schooldays were made up of ribbing your mates if your team beat theirs so you always picked the top teams and not necessarily the local team (Leyton Orient weren't noted for their first division presence) to avoid the abuse if your team lost.
