70s Food Back on the Menu

Well I never thought I’d read that. Apparantly 70s food is making a comeback onto the food tables according to the retailer Ocado.

Dishes that are making a comeback are the Prawn Cocktail, Chicken Kievs and one of the 70s iconic desserts the Arctic Roll.

A new documentary is being released about Deep Purple in their hey day and it includes the crazy days in Jakarta where one of their minders was allegedly murdered.

Abba Charity Event

Abba Tribute band Abba Love will be part of the Abba charity night at the Park Inn Palace Hotel to raise monies for Southend Hospital and Kickstart which is a fund to help young people get back into work.

Abba Love will be first on playing all your favourite Abba hits and that will be followed by the screeening of Mamma Mia where you will be able to sing a long to those classic tunes.

Elton in Weird Mash Up

I had to read this again as I couldn’t quite believe the words that were before me.
Elton John singing the original Peter Greene written Fleetwood Mac hit “Oh Well” whilst being accompanied by two Croatian Celloists.

Okay I assume you’ve read it twice now and apparently it’s true. According to Classic Hits and Oldies Elton John is a big fan of 2Cellos and took them with him on his European tour.

Cartoon Jackson Hit DVD

Wilko Johnson Has Cancer

Very sad news today as I’ve just read in the Guardian that Wilko Johnson the great and crazy former guitarist from Dr Feelgood has been diagnosed with terminal cancer of the pancreas. According to his manager he has not elected to have treatment but will rock on as long as he can.

Cher working on a 60s TV Show

I know it’s not 70s but I’m sure all you who lived through the 70s and can remember them will recall some of the 60s too so the news that Cher is collaborating with Ron Zimmerman the comedy writer on a show set in 60s Hollywood.
