Tania – Am I right in thinking, that the new chart was broadcast on Radio 1 on a Tuesday lunchtime? I know it was always played on a Sunday evening as well, but I have a strong memory of crowds of girls trying to crowd around a tinny tranny in the playground, waiting to find out if there was a new number 1! (Out of sight of the teachers, and of course those dratted prefects, because radios were strictly forbidden)!

Rennie – I’m really not sure about that Tania, I do have a vague recollection of it but somehow always had it in my mind that sunday was the day. Any one else remember?

The new chart was played on a Tuesday lunchtime between 12 and 1. They played the top 5 between 12.45 and 1 (I think that it was Newsbeat at 12.30).

Can’t believe I remember that – I can’t remember things that happened yesterday.
