Seattle’s grunge scene was heavily influenced by British and American punk from the late 70s and 80s and featured strong guitar riffs and heavy drumming. Cobain was the unwitting poster boy for the grunge movement when he was pictured in 1992 wearing this ‘Grunge is Dead’ tee, which sent a strong message of his reluctance to fame.
