The 1970 World Cup in Mexico was to be Pele’s last. Brazil’s squad for the tournament featured Rivelino Jairzinho Gerson Tostao and Clodoaldo which is now widely considered as one of the greatest football teams of all time.Pele played in six World Cup qualifying matches scoring six goals and they met Italy in the final where Pele scored the opener and set up goals for Jairzinho and Carlos Alberto.Brazil won the match 4-1 keeping the Jules Rimet Trophy indefinitely. Burgnich who marked Pele during the match was quoted sayingI told myself before the game he’s made of skin and bones just like everyone else – but I was wrong. This exceptional piece is a stunning special edition spot colour photo-on-canvas showing Pele celebrating the first goal with Jairzinho and Toastao rushing to congratulate him.The canvas was personally signed by Pele at an exclusive Spirit of Sport signing on 19 April 2007 in London and a photo of Pele signing is supplied with this item. The canvas is stretched around a wood frame giving a 3D effect and measures in at a large and impressive 50cm by 40cm. This ready to hang modern canvas would grace any location in the home or office and would make a great gift.A stunning item of memorabilia from the man who became known as the ‘King of Football’ Pele.
