Farrah Fawcett Make Up Guide

Farrah Fawcett is definitely an icon of the 70s. She was the envy of every young woman and the dream of every young man. With her numerous episodes as a Charlie’s Angel, she was very much in the public eye. She was the “pin-up” girl of the ‘70s.
In the ‘70s, not only did clothing fashion change, but the make-up fashion changed as well. If you notice, in the ‘70s, the skin began to be tanned and the “porcelain” look was no longer wanted. So, to mirror the look of the ‘70s, you must begin with a tanned surface, your skin. There are many products available today that will help you to achieve this look. There are now sunless tanning lotions as well as bronzers. If you don’t already have tanned skin, then a bronzer will work perfectly for you. Make sure to choose the right bronzer though. You don’t want one that will be too dark for you. You want the tan to appear as natural as possible.

You can begin by applying a moisturizer that has a bronzer in it. This will give a subtle, natural glow to your skin. Apply the moisturizer over the entire face, blending along the jaw line onto the neck. Next, you can apply a bronzing powder to the entire face. This will help to “set” the moisturizer and you will not lose the tan as the day progresses. Again, don’t forget to blend.

To achieve the classic “Farrah” look, you will want to choose a light shade of blue for the eyes. Apply the shadow to the eyelid and smoothly and evenly as possible. Only apply up to the crease of the eye. Do not take it any higher. Next, you will apply natural brown eyeliner, if any at all. Farrrah’s look has no eye liner; but if you are one of those people who must have it, choose a light, natural shade. To finish up the eye, apply mascara to the eyelashes. Use an eyelash comb to separate the eyelashes so that you will have no clumps and the look will be natural. As for the eyebrows, let them be as natural as you would like, just like Farrah’s.

In the ‘70s, we actually begin to see more colour on the cheeks. So choosing a coral with the tanned skin, as with Farrah, the result is beautiful. You need to blend the cheek color, but you can still leave colour to where it is somewhat noticeable. In other words, you don’t want it to disappear. Just make sure there’s not a definite line, which makes you look like a clown.

To finish off the look, don’t forget your lips. Choose a lip stick shade that matches the blush, so that the appearance is as natural as possible while still giving you color. With a peach or coral lipstick, your tanned appearance will really shine. Choose a lip liner that coordinates with the lip color. Apply the lip liner to the natural lip line. This helps to keep the lip colour from feathering or bleeding. Apply the colour. If the colour is matte, apply a clear lip gloss. You want your lips to be glossy for that “angelic” appearance.
