Rennie	Did you ever get disciplined at school? I can remember getting the ruler across my open palm just the once which stung quite considerably. Can;’t even remember what it was for but I know I was too smart from then on to get caught What’s your views on corporal punishment at school?

Seventies Man	Me I only once got a cane across my hand wrongly. Most times I got the cane I suppose I actually deserved it although I cannot say it was something that stopped me from misbehaving- Moreover it made me try to be clever in not getting caught.

john	I never saw the slipper but I always saw the cane in the headmasters room. I never had the cane but I did get the occasional slap.
