When I use to bunk off school for an afternoon I would spend my time wlking around the town centre. It is now when you lok back that you realise some of those classic shops have gone for ever.

Fine Fare
Rumbelows
Brentford Nylons
C&A
Andys Records
Macfisheries
Woolworths
Internationals
Radio Rentals

Any more?

oh my god Radio Rentals :) has Fine Fare gone?
What about Pollards and Ditchfields? Ditchfields used to be a toy shop in Leyton where they had a “lucky dip” sack which never seemed to be very lucky. Pollards was the place to buy those dodhy multi coloured pillow case and sheet sets and our faithful Baseball Boots which have now become very popular as Converse.
