Daimler Sovereign

£5,199-£5,956 circa 1976
Economy and opulence are combined in the new 3.4-litre Sovereign, priced several hundred pounds below the 4.2 model. One version only, a 4-door long wheelbase saloon, whereas the 4.2 now offers long wheelbase saloons, the luxurious Vanden Plas saloon with air conditioning and stereo tape player or the short- wheelbase, 2-door. Same choice of bodies for the 5 3 litre Double-Six with the latest V12 injection engine.

£5,590 circa 1975
The slinky Sovereign coupe is powered by the 4.2-litre twin overhead camshaft ‘six’ virtually identical to the Jaguar engine of the same capacity. The graceful two-door bodywork is on the 276cm wheelbase, and the electrically-operated windows disappear when fully-open, transforming the snug coupe into a fresh-air roadster.

The Sovereign two-door is available with four-speed/overdrive manual or fully-automatic transmission, and there is also a cloth option to the leather-faced seats. Radio, loudspeakers and aerial are standard equipment, and air-conditioning is an optional extra

Cars of the 70’s

Something that is always of interest, especially to us blokes is cars, so looking back on the old motors of the 70s was certainly something of a treat. With a lot of thanks to all my classic car friends we've put together a great collection of 70s cars including the iconic Capri for you to have a look through, and to make it a little more interesting, we've written it all as if we were in the 70s and even inserted the going price for the cars at that time.
