Citroen 2 CV

£1,149 circa 1976
Following the successful reintroduction of the veteran 2CV to the British market, demand exceeded supply. Now after 27 years in production. Citroen in France have produced a model to the original formula, deleting later improvements like rear quarter windows, bigger seats, rectangular headlamps. All models have headlamp adjustment from the driving seat, sun roof and a simple flat twin air-cooled engine and suspension interconnected front-to-rear.

Although of only 602 cc the 2CV is a full four-seater saloon with four doors, all independent suspension, and a sunshine roof.

The air-cooled twin-cylinder engine drives the front wheels and the ride, developed for French farm tracks, is almost limousine-like. In these days of high fuel prices, conservation and inflation, the 50 mpg 2CV, which has been in production for 27 years, is a proposition worthy of consideration. The Headlight can be adjusted from the driving seat, and the heating, ventilation system is very effective. The 41/2 gallon tank gives a range of over 200 miles.

Cars of the 70’s

Something that is always of interest, especially to us blokes is cars, so looking back on the old motors of the 70s was certainly something of a treat. With a lot of thanks to all my classic car friends we've put together a great collection of 70s cars including the iconic Capri for you to have a look through, and to make it a little more interesting, we've written it all as if we were in the 70s and even inserted the going price for the cars at that time.
