Audi 100 GL

Price circa 1976 £3,216
Bigger bores raise the 1,760 cc engine of the 100 LS to 1,871 cc for the GL to give this refined front-wheel drive model performance comparable with that of larger and thirstier cars. Heated rear window, rubber-faced bumpers, illuminated luggage boot are standard. In addition the 100 GL Special has automatic transmission tinted glass, vinyl top with sun roof, metallic paint and head restraint- at front and rear.

Price circa 1975 £2895

Audi’s good looking front drive 1.8 litre range continues in four door saloon and two door coupe form for 1976. Three saloons will be imported, the 1760 cc LS and 1871 cc GL  with automatic transmission an option, and the super luxury SE with automatic as standard. The 1871 cc two-door 100S coupe continues unchanged but the saloons have new type dampeners and strengthened structures.  All 100 models are noted for quiet fast cruising but the high gearing, also contributes to good fuel consumption characteristics. Steering is of the safety self stabilising type.

Cars of the 70’s

Something that is always of interest, especially to us blokes is cars, so looking back on the old motors of the 70s was certainly something of a treat. With a lot of thanks to all my classic car friends we've put together a great collection of 70s cars including the iconic Capri for you to have a look through, and to make it a little more interesting, we've written it all as if we were in the 70s and even inserted the going price for the cars at that time.
